Year-end fund drive: Here's to 2020!

This is a time of year when people give thanks --- and on behalf of our board, volunteers and contributors, I want to thank each of you.

Several months ago, Tube City Community Media's websites hit a milestone I never thought we'd reach --- we had 10 million hits in a single calendar year. It's undoubtedly higher now.

If you use any of our websites --- Tube City Almanac, the obituaries or WMCK Internet Radio ---  we do need your financial support.

We try not to ask for money all the time --- and we run only two fund drives, one in the summer and this one at the end of the year.

Tube City Community Media Inc. is an IRS 501(c)(3) charity and is eligible for tax-deductible donations.

If you are financially able, and would like to make a gift, please consider doing so.

Donations may be made by check or money order to:

Tube City Community Media Inc.
P.O. Box 94
McKeesport PA 15134

Or via PayPal at: http://www.tubecityonline.com/contact/

We are grateful to the G.C. Murphy Co. Foundation and the E.R. Crawford Estate Trust Fund for their grants that have provided us with a stable base of operations for the past few years.

We are hoping we can grow again in 2020, and we look forward to continuing to provide you, and McKeesport-area residents, with this service.

Best wishes for a safe holiday and successful new year!

Sincerely,
Jason Togyer
Executive Director and Board Member

Fourth Anniversary WMCK.FM and Goffus Golden Oldies

Back on October 6, 2015, this producer/host was proud and honored to officially sign on WMCK.FM McKeesport’s very own Internet Radio Station.  As we celebrate our fourth anniversary, let’s return to October 6, 2015 and remember the very first program in the series of Goffus Golden Oldies Tuesday October 1 at 6:00 am with Encore presentations Thursday October 3 at 7:00 pm and Saturday October 5 at 3:00 pm. During the past four years, it has been my pleasure to host/produce these programs for you.  My wish is that all of you continue to listen to the truly wonderful assorted programs on WMCK.FM, including Goffus Golden Oldies.  Again, Thank You for listening.

The Electric Crush has moved!

The Electric Crush has moved to Wednesdays, beginning this week.

Tune in Sept. 4 from 7 to 9 p.m. At 7 p.m. Sept. 3, it's an encore broadcast of "Whiskey Before Breakfast" with Mando Richard, followed by OnLine with Bill Alexander at 10 p.m.

Then, watch this space for more new shows coming from WMCK.FM, the new sound of the Mon Valley!

We're back!

So we're back! Thank you to Cliff from Comcast Business.

It looks like the storms that passed through the Mon-Yough area on Thursday afternoon (and caused the cancellation of some of the entertainment at International Village) also caused power surge on the modem --- even though, yes, it was plugged into a UPS!

Sorry --- we're currently off-line!

We apologize! Sometime last night, the Comcast Business connection to our studios in the Tube City Center (the former Daily News Building) went down.

Comcast made multiple attempts to restart the connection remotely --- most recently at 1:30 a.m. and 9 a.m. today --- and was not successful.

We're waiting for a Comcast Business technician to arrive this afternoon and will post an update as soon as we can.
