Be a DJ
Have you ever listened to a radio show or podcast and thought, "Gee, that's not so hard --- I could do that!"
Have you ever wanted to share your favorite music or bands with a wider audience?
Or, are you a radio, electronics or computer buff --- a "maker" --- who wants a chance to put your hobby to good use?
WMCK.FM may have a place for you.
WMCK.FM is looking for responsible volunteers who want to have their own show or help keep the station on the air. You have to complete a volunteer application and agree to some basic, common-sense safety rules.
After that, what you do is up to you.
- Do you want to host a talk show?
- Do you want to record a live band show?
- Do you want to DJ a specialty show --- maybe oldies, jazz, polka, blues or country?
As long as you do a new show each week, and respect the other people at the station, we'll try to find a place for you. If you want to help behind the scenes --- we'll try to find a place for you there, too.
Previous experience is not necessary, but is helpful. Young people who are not age 18 or older will need to have an adult or guardian with them --- a parent, grandparent, aunt or uncle, but not a sibling.
